How to add VAT

How to add VAT to a price? The current VAT rate in the United Kingdom at the moment is 17.5%. If you want to calculate gross amount with another VAT rate, you simply have to change the numbers in the line “VAT rate” of the formula.

To begin your calculations you have to find out the multiplier first. To do that you need to divide your VAT rate by 100. Then add 1 to the sum you’ve received. This final number is your actual multiplier.
After this you need to multiply your net price on the multiplier. For example your multiplier is 1.175, and your net price is £20. To find the gross price you have to do the following: £20 * 1.175 = £23.5.
